The first step in achieving greater diversity is an insight into what a career in wealth looks like today and where Canadian firms would like to see careers grow into.

Lara Zink is currently President & CEO of Women in Capital Markets. WCM is the largest network of female professionals in Canadian finance, with initiatives that impact the careers of countless female students and professionals across the country.
Prior to joining WCM, Lara spent 18 months in venture capital. She is an angel investor and a mentor at a startup accelerator called NEXT Canada. NEXT accelerates the growth trajectory of aspiring and scaling entrepreneurs with education, mentorship, funding, and access to Canada’s strongest entrepreneurial network.
From 1995 to 2019 Lara worked at RBC Capital Markets. She sold North American and European equity research and investment banking products to many of Canada’s largest institutional investors, including pension funds, bank owned mutual funds, and independent fund managers. A lead partner in RBC Women’s Leadership ETF, she has been a strong advocate for ED&I throughout her career and has extensive volunteer experience for social impact.
Lara holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from UWO, and an MBA from the Rotman School of Management. Lara is a Governor on the University of Toronto Governing Council, she sits on two Foundation boards, the CAMH Campaign Cabinet, and is a volunteer for the Special Olympics.
Lara has been an active mentor to junior women and men throughout her career.
Catherine Milum is a customer-obsessed sales powerhouse. From client services to sales and marketing, she has spent her career learning, training and making customers’ decisions easier and their lives better.
As the Head of Wealth Sales, Wealth and Asset Management, Canada, Catherine guides the National Sales team, of more than 100 professionals, by openly imparting her knowledge and experience to help advisors grow their business.
Recognized as one of “Canada’s Most Powerful Women” by the Women’s Executive Network, and a 2019 “Champion of Change” recipient by Women in Capital Markets, Catherine is a trailblazer in the wealth industry. She’s passionate about growing strong relationships and developing the abilities of talented team members – with a specific focus on women in the industry. She’s also an accomplished presenter, with hundreds of seminars on countless topics, under her belt.
For Catherine, information-sharing is about connecting and having fun, and her creative approach has earned her a reputation as one of the top practice management leaders and sales trainers in the industry.

Andrea Linger began her career in the financial services industry in 2010 and joined Raymond James in 2011. During her time at Raymond James, she has grown her career, taking on new roles and increasing responsibilities first within an Advisory team and then in the Practice Management department. As Vice President of Practice Management, Andrea is responsible for managing, facilitating and designing programs to improve the profitability and growth of our Financial/Investment Advisors across Canada. She is directly responsible for the delivery of various Practice Management programs, facilitating new Advisor training and succession planning programs. As Head of the Women Canadian Advisors Network for Raymond James Ltd., Andrea is committed to advancing the success of our women advisors through professional and personal coaching initiatives, training, workshops and networking opportunities. In September 2021, Andrea was a story contributor to the Amazon Best Selling Women of Inspiration - Women Driving Change book that features inspiring women from diverse industries. These women are everyday heroes and role models, female entrepreneurs, leaders, visionaries; thought leaders who inspire us to forge ahead, take the road less traveled and dream big! Amy Lee is the Vice President, Training and Practice Excellence at Scotiabank. In this role, she is responsible for leading the Training and Practice Management team, supporting all key development initiatives for advisor businesses across Scotia Wealth Management. She is also responsible for leading Scotia Wealth Management’s Analytics Team.
Prior to this, Amy has taken on a variety of client-facing and strategic head office roles within Scotia Wealth Management; most recently as Director, Strategy and Transformation for Client Solutions. She is also a champion for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, leading the working group for Global Wealth Management’s Inclusion Council and has been a key contributor to The Scotiabank Women Initiative.
With over 15+ years of industry experience, Amy is recognized for her highly strategic mindset, ability to drive strong business results and passion for building and leading high-performance teams.
Amy has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from the University of Toronto.
Ann Marie Cerio is a Marketing and Sales Strategy leader with over 20 years of experience in financial and professional services. Ann Marie is currently Vice President & Director at TD Asset Management leading Client Experience and Sales Strategy. She re-joined TD in 2011 after completing the Rotman Back to Work Program.
Prior to that, she was Chief Marketing Officer for one of Canada’s leading business law firms. She has held a variety of roles within TD Bank Group in retail and commercial banking, corporate office and wealth management environments. Ann Marie was also Head of the Global Marketing and Communications at TD Securities. She also worked as a consultant with institutional clients in the capital markets industry.
Ann Marie is passionate about Women's initiatives having been a member of the TD Wealth Women In Leadership (WIL) Committee and past Board Member and Vice President for Women in Capital Markets. She earned her Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University with a major in Finance. She also completed the Executive Marketing Program at Queen’s University.

Daniela leads a team responsible for the maintenance and growth of a $1.8B territory at Manulife Investment Management. Her clients are investment advisors and financial planners.
Daniela joined Manulife in 2018 and the wealth management industry in 2009. Prior to Manulife, she held roles at Fidelity Investments, BMO Nesbitt Burns, and Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management.
Daniela graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and holds a Charted Investment Manager designation.
Nadège is a Senior Financial Consultant and Division Director with IG Wealth Management.
She has over 10 years’ experience working with professionals and their families to achieve financial wellbeing. Not only does she run her financial planning practice she is also a Division Director responsible for training and developing new consultants.
Her passion is DEI and uplifting her community. She is a lead for IGM Black Advisory Council and the Vice President of Financial Literacy for the Canadian Association of Urban Financial Professionals.

She holds multiple academic designations including a MSc and PhD, along with the Sustainable Investment Professional certification. June has been recognized by the CBC and YWCA for her community work in support of girls and women, and professionally she leads a steering committee for Women in Capital Markets. June has worked in various roles within the financial services industry, and is a champion and advocate for women in capital markets.
Fate Saghir leads Sustainability at Mackenzie Investments. Fate is also the Chair of the Sustainability Steering Committee and the Head of Mackenzie’s Sustainability Centre of Excellence, dedicated to developing capabilities and enriching technical expertise of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors in support of corporate strategy, investment management practices and sustainable product offerings. Fate brings thought leadership, education and tools aligned to creating sustainable investments to institutional clients, advisors and investors. Since joining Mackenzie in 2017, Fate led the development and launch of Precision, an intuitive investment analytics technology that assists financial advisors in the research and analysis of Canadian investments. She then established a new function, Market Strategy and Innovation, focused on research, insights and innovation enabling fact based and client centric decision-making at IG Wealth Management and Mackenzie Investments.
Fate has over 15 years’ experience in financial services building new sustainable business models through strategic research and insights, a strong client orientation and a focus on generating long-term value for all stakeholders.
She sits on the Advisory Boards for Timea’s Cause, an organization dedicated to building awareness in human trafficking and the Women’s Collection, an organization focused on enabling financial literacy for women. In 2021, she joined the Responsible Investment Association’s Leadership Council and joined the board of the Mackenzie Investments’ Charitable Foundation Board. She was also named a Clean50 2022 Honouree in recognition of her efforts to advance the cause of sustainability and clean capitalism in Canada. Fate has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Windsor and is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA).
Jeff was appointed Head of Alternatives, ESG and Innovation for BMO Global Asset Management in August of 2021. Previous roles at BMO have included heading Financial Institutions, Correspondent Banking, Trade Finance, Treasury & Payments Solutions and Asia Corporate Banking in BMO Capital Markets.
Prior to BMO, Jeff worked as a strategy consultant, as a university researcher and as an entrepreneur. He has authored a number of patents related to advanced technology interface design. He holds Bachelor and Master’s degrees in Computer Science from Queen’s University and an MBA from the S.C. Johnson School of Management at Cornell University.
Margaret Childe is Head of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Research and Integration, Canada, at Manulife Investment Management. She is responsible for working collaboratively and proactively with Manulife IM’s Canada-based investment teams on ESG integration, identifying and managing ESG risks and opportunities for Canadian portfolios. Margaret also works on global ESG integration projects and methodologies for ESG product development and represents Manulife IM’s ESG capabilities among the local investment community.
Previously, Margaret was a senior manager of ESG advisory services at Sustainalytics, where she helped asset owners and investment managers in Canada and the US to develop and implement sustainable and responsible investment strategies, including ESG integration, ESG products and impact investing solutions.
Prior to that, Margaret managed RBC Capital Market’s collateral management desk and was an associate on the Global Equity Linked Products desk. Earlier in her career, Margaret worked for Save the Children, UNESCO and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission. Margaret is fluent in French.
Margaret holds an Honours BA from University of Toronto in Environment & Society and French Literature & Civilization.

Brandon Newell is an Executive Director of Financial Solutions within the Global Markets segment at CIBC Capital Markets where he is responsible for the fixed income cash, credit, and derivatives business in Vancouver. Brandon manages institutional relationships with a focus on Treasuries, Mortgage Originators, Insurance Companies, Hedge Funds, Pension Funds, and other Real and Alternative Asset Managers. Brandon began his career on the sell side at CIBC in June 2012 after concluding a one year contract at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan within their Tactical Asset Allocation, Investments division where he was part of the Equity Products group that specialized in trading volatility as an asset class.
Brandon is active in several community care initiatives at CIBC, including the United Way Campaign, Movember, One for Change, Miracle Day, and the CIBC Annual Squash Tournament for Run for the Cure, which he helped originate. He is also a passionate advocate for equity, diversity, and inclusion and has served in multiple capacities at Women in Capital Markets with a focus on men’s engagement. He is currently seated as Co-Chair of the WCM Vancouver Chapter Steering Committee.

Kimberly Wood is a Senior Wealth Associate at National Bank Financial Wealth Management whose primary role runs the gamut from relationship-building to working on personalized financial plans, managing investment transactions and handling clients’ estate needs with great sensitivity. Kimberly prides herself on her integrity, loyalty and her ability to support clients on their financial journeys.
Kimberly’s near decade in wealth management began in customer service with TD Financial Group. She rounded out her experience as a Licensed Associate at RBC Dominion Securities and a Licensed Investment Advisor Assistant at Canaccord Genuity. In 2016, Kimberly transitioned with her team to National Bank Financial Wealth Management to continue working as a Senior Investment Associate.

Nathalie Gagnon is Vice President and Managing Director of the Greater Toronto region (GTR) for RBC PH&N Investment Counsel. She's an experienced financial services sales and relationship management professional with a proven track record of managing complex, high-value relationships.
Her collaborative, solutions-driven approach has been instrumental in developing strong client partnerships and driving enterprise global change management initiatives.
Nathalie has three decades of financial industry experience, including institutional relationship management, business development and regional client management responsibilities. Known for her excellent leadership skills, she heads a professional team charged with building and managing a high-performance investment counselling practice.
She earned a business degree in finance from the University of Sherbrooke and is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder.
Sophia joined Manulife Investments as an Internal Wholesaler in 2015. During her 7 years at Manulife, Sophia graduated from the company’s Wholesaler Development Program and was awarded Internal Wholesaler of the Year in 2019. Most recently, she was promoted to the role of Hybrid Wholesaler, a new role at Manulife that balances the demands of a traditional wholesaler with the flexibility of working remotely. For the past 2 years, Sophia was a speaker at Manulife’s national segregated fund conferences, performing live demonstrations on the company’s new digital tools.
Prior to joining Manulife, Sophia worked at two large investment management firms. Having spent time working in administration, event planning and working with both investment and insurance products, Sophia’s 12 years of experience in the industry make her a highly valuable business partner.
Marissa Teeter is the Senior Vice President, Financial Services for IG Wealth Management, one Canada’s largest Wealth Management firms.
Marissa is fluent in both French and English, and has over 15 years of business development, wealth management and marketing experience under her belt. Prior to joining IG Wealth Management, she helped build and run a boutique wealth management firm working exclusively with high net worth clients and exempt products for nearly 10 years, consulted for Fortune 500 companies and helped build a handful of start-up companies prior to that. Marissa believes strongly and works diligently towards supporting financial literacy and financial wellbeing for all Canadians.
Marissa’s entrepreneurial spirit, relentless energy and “do what it takes” mentality make her a valuable resource to her clients, colleagues and business associates alike. Her commitment to women’s empowerment, diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives are integrated into both her daily work and personal community efforts and commitments.
Marissa graduated with a business degree (Administrative & Commercial Studies) from the University of Western Ontario, which she achieved with honours. She also earned a Bilingual Business Degree from the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry and was recognized as one of the program’s top international graduates. Marissa was recognized in 2018 as the IIAC’s Top 40 Under 40 for investment industry professionals and has recently earned executive certificates from Wharton, Georgetown and Harvard Business Schools.
Marissa was recently featured as an expert in the new CBC series, “The Dream Team” alongside CBC Dragons Den star Manjit Minhas. Together with other mentors, they worked with incredible Canadians to build their financial plans, inspire financial confidence and to fuel their business dreams. Marissa is also very involved in local community and international causes. As an active philanthropist, Marissa has served on many charitable boards over the years. Marissa was also recognized as a 2015, 2016 and 2017 YMCA-YWCA Woman of Distinction for Business and Entrepreneurship and Community Champion- she was also the 2018 and 2019 Honorary Chair. Additionally, she was named “Top 40 Under 40” for 2015 and was selected for the 2015 Mayor’s Award for her philanthropic efforts and achievements. She also currently sits on several Advisory Boards offering her support and expertise to fuel charitable and other community organizations both locally and nationally.
Marissa is passionate about the mutually beneficial opportunities that happen when corporations and non-profits work together and she hares her knowledge as a highly sought-after speaker on the importance of fostering these partnerships. She also enjoys coaching and mentoring business professionals and remarkable women to help them achieve their greatest potential in business and in life.
