In a time of so much disruption, leaders are tasked with creating positive team climates where members feel valued and can offer their best. Research shows that psychologically safe teams perform better. So how do you as a leader foster trust and belonging on your team? And how do you care for yourself amidst the challenges of leading? This session will explore compassion for self and others. You will gain tools to support your team to thrive while increasing your own wellbeing.

Annie Simpson

Senior Facilitator / Consultant on Leadership Development, Western University's Talent, Learning and Engagement Team

Annie Simpson has been catalyzing emotionally intelligent leadership in university students, staff, and corporate professionals for 15 years. At the University of Toronto, she co-created a large-scale leadership development program for engineers and designed in-depth corporate leadership programs. She currently facilitates and designs professional development programs for leaders in higher education. Annie holds a Masters degree in Adult Education and Counselling Psychology, is certified in numerous emotional intelligence assessments, and embeds an equity lens into her work. She is inspired to create exceptional learning experiences that connect people to their inner lives and promote authentic and compassionate leadership.
