Esther Bast

Senior Vice-President, Financial Services, MidWest Area | IG Wealth

Esther Bast was appointed Senior Vice-President, Financial Services for IG Wealth Management on October 18, 2004. She was appointed to Senior Vice-President for the MidWest Area on January 1, 2022. 

In this role, Esther oversees the MidWest network. She works closely with all aspects of IG Wealth Management’s distribution network, national distribution issues and provides guidance to head office areas from a field perspective.  Previous to this, Esther was the SVP for the national Planning Specialist Network of Insurance and Estate Planning Specialists and Mortgage Planning Specialists as well as President and UDP for IG Securities.

Esther joined IG Wealth Management in 1990 working in client relations and market research before she moved to the Winnipeg West region office as a Consultant and later as a Division Director.  She was promoted to Regional Director of the Winnipeg Regent office in the fall of 1999 and moved to the Southern Saskatchewan region office in 2001, winning the prestigious Master Director award.

Prior to joining IG Wealth Management, Esther completed her Business Administration. She also holds the Chartered Financial Planner, Personal Financial Planner (PFP) and Registered Retirement Consultant (RRC) designations.

Marty Minshull

Regional Vice President | IG Wealth

Marty is the Regional Vice President in the Winnipeg SouthWest area. In his role, he partners with a team of nearly 100 financial planners to provide coaching, mentorship and support. He also specializes in consulting on client cases with complex tax and estate planning needs. Through his career he has continued to develop his advanced planning knowledge through completion of the Certified Financial Planner and Chartered Life Underwriter designations. Outside of work he contributes his time to the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce, Advocis Winnipeg Chapter and the United Way Leadership Cabinet.

Nancy Ottawa

Senior Financial Consultant | ​ IG Wealth Management

Nancy began her career with IG Wealth Management in 1999.  Nancy loves working with clients to understand what is important to them and uses her strong organizational and planning skills to help clients achieve their dreams.  Trustworthiness and integrity are part of her makeup and it is her wish to combine these characteristics with her knowledge and skill to deliver an exceptional client experience.  A willingness to help and empower women who require financial assistance is one of Nancy’s passions.
She has achieved both the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and Registered Retirement Consultant designations.  Nancy also volunteers her time on the Round Table Committee for Norwest Food Community Co-op and is a member of IG Wealth Management’s National Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group.

​ Patricia Nesbitt

Senior Vice-President and Portfolio Manager | Mackenzie Investments

Patricia joined Mackenzie in 2021 through the acquisition of GLC Asset Management (GLC) from Canada Life.  As leader of the Mackenzie GLC boutique, she oversees a team of senior equity portfolio managers, analysts and research experts managing over $20B in Canadian assets. Patricia is also the lead portfolio manager for the Canadian All Cap Growth equity mandate and has been associated with the portfolio since she joined the GLC team in 1987.

Patricia is a CFA charterholder and holds an honours Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Manitoba. She’s also a former president of the Winnipeg Society of Financial Analysts, a Major Donor of the United Way, past chair of the Winnipeg Humane Society and recipient of Canada’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women award.
