WCM Job Shadow Day Toronto

Registration is now open.

Since 2004, WCM has invited high schools in the GTA to send up to two female students in grade 12 to spend a day on Bay Street, offering them exposure to a day in the life of a finance professional.

WCM's Job Shadow Day is a free, day-long event that gives female students in grade 12 a first-hand view of exciting careers in finance and capital markets. The day includes interactive workshops, networking and mentoring sessions, presentations profiling women with diverse careers in finance, and an afternoon job shadow experience with a mentor who works in the industry. Students will also have the unique opportunity to tour the trading floors of Canada's major banks.

Over its 16-year lifespan, WCM's Job Shadow Day has hosted 2,000 female high school students in Toronto, many of whom have pursued careers in capital markets due to their experiences at WCM Job Shadow Day.

Registration Process:

  • One teacher from each high school nominates a maximum of two (2) of their school's top female grade 12 students who have applied to a Business or related university program (ie. Math, Accounting, Law or Economics);
  • The sponsor teacher is responsible for registering the two selected students.
  • Due to limited space and high demand, registration will be accommodated on a 'first come, first served' basis. Given this event's strong reputation, we appreciate that many young women from your school may be interested in attending. However, we firmly restrict registration to two students per school to allow for diversity across schools in the GTA;
  • Upon successful registration, WCM will send a confirmation email to the sponsor teacher;
  • Students do not require a teacher chaperone on Job Shadow Day.

Important Note: Teachers should input their own contact information into the registration form and claim up to two (2) tickets for their students, selecting either Public School or Private School tickets, as applicable.  Once registration is confirmed, WCM will reach out to teachers directly to confirm the names of their students who will be attending.

Once tickets are sold out, contact Victoria Miller at [email protected] to be placed on the waitlist.
