In order to best prepare candidates for the Return to Bay Street (RTBS) application experience, WCM is offering an info session. All women considering applying are encouraged to participate. The conference will offer:

  • A full overview of the Return to Bay Street Award Program;
  • Information on what candidates are to expect as they go through the application process;
  • The opportunity to learn more about the experiences of previous RTBS candidates;

Odette Hutchings

Chief Operating Officer

Prior to joining WCM, Odette served as the Executive Director of Sustainival, the World's First Green Carnival. She led the organization through the 2018 and 2019 event seasons, producing large-scale events across Alberta in Lethbridge, Edmonton and Fort McMurray, which engaged over 75,000 people annually and thousands more through communications and media campaigns.Previously, Odette Hutchings served as the Senior Manager at Global Citizen’s Canada office. Odette’s work with Global Citizen contributed to a long list of victories both in advocacy and public engagement with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Securing $100M in funding from the Canadian government for polio eradication in 2017 was a major milestone during her tenure. Outside of her work with WCM, Odette serves on the Board of Trustees for The Linden School, a school focusing on the empowerment of girls through a girl-centered pedagogy. Odette holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in International Development from the University of Guelph.

Hao Tian

Sustainability Advisory Associate, CIBC Capital Markets

Hao Tian is a Sustainability Advisory Associate at CIBC Capital Markets. Prior to joining CIBC, Hao held various roles in technology, risk management, global loan syndication and financial sector consulting at several well-known banks and public sector.Hao holds a Master of Finance degree and a Graduate Diploma in Social Responsibility and Sustainability from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Economics degree from the Central University of Finance and Economics. Hao is also a Certified Financial Risk Manager.Hao also volunteers in her local community, including WCM, TRIEC and CUFE Alumni Association.

Adeola Ogunyemi

Product and Transformation Consultant- Manulife Investment Management

Adeola is a 2022 recipient of the Return to Bay Street program of Women in Capital Markets. She currently works in Manulife Investment Management within the retail investment business. In her role, she owns the service experience transformation for both advisors and retail investors including developing strategies and solutions to current state pain points. Adeola has over 15 years of experience in sales, customer relationship management, and marketing within the banking and financial services industry. As head of retail banking for Guaranty Trust bank in Nigeria, Adeola built the retail business into the largest contributor to the bank’s balance sheet with revenue more than $353 million representing 24% of total bank and balance sheet of $3.4billion. She has managed various customer segments including public sector, corporate, commercial, small, and medium enterprises, as well as personal (retail) banking customers. Adeola’s experience includes planning and executing budgets, asset and liability management, product development and marketing, managing projects, financial analysis, credit analysis, and risk management. She has deployed her people management skills externally with regulators and industry thought leaders to gain support for various initiatives that have helped her to consolidate on her market leadership within the retail segment as well as to set key policy and operational guidelines. Adeola has a Bachelor of Science/Education in Economics, a Master of Science in Global Marketing, and a Doctorate in Business Administration and relocated to Canada in 2021.
