Networking can seem daunting when you are a post-secondary student trying to keep up with studying and other demands in your life. However, networking can be one of the most successful tools to master early on in your career.
By attending this event you will learn:
1. How networking can help you with visibility among Canada's top firms and assist in securing the interview
2. How to ask the right questions and walk away with a better understanding on how firms operate and which firms are a good fit for you
3. How to build relationships with industry professionals that can turn into mentors and sponsors, and the importance of securing them early in your career.
You will have an opportunity to break into small group discussions with the speakers after the session.
This event is designed for students of all genders looking to get into a wide range of careers in finance.

Daniel is an Associate at BMO Capital Partners and was previously an Analyst at Novacap Investments. Daniel has extensive experience in buyout and growth equity transactions across the Healthcare, Technology and Diversified Industrials sectors. Daniel received his Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the Ted Rogers School of Management.
Veronika is an ETF Capital Markets Analyst at Vanguard where she manages the primary market activity of their Canadian ETF lineup, while monitoring the trading of the products in the secondary market. At Vanguard, Veronika is part of the internal organization WILS (Women’s Initiative in Leadership Success), supporting efforts to increase the representation of women in the industry.
Prior to her role at Vanguard, she began her post-undergraduate career at RBC Global Asset Management on the Trade Support team. Veronika earned her undergraduate degree at Ryerson University in Toronto, with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Finance. She is also currently working towards achieving the CFA and CAIA designations.
Outside of work she spends her time golfing (when the weather permits!), reading, and working on her next DIY home project.
Maggie Wei is a Campus Recruitment & Sourcing Specialist, part of the People & Culture team at Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan. Prior to joining Teachers’ in 2019, Maggie worked at Celestica as part of the Campus recruitment team. Maggie is passionate about connecting with candidates and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management from University of Toronto.
Tennille Robertson is currently an Analyst at PSP Investments on the Fundamental Research Platform where she conducts thematic and bottom-up analysis of public equities and pre-IPO investment opportunities in the global healthcare sector. Tennille is actively involved in industry initiatives and passionate about leadership development, having founded Emerging Women in Finance - a platform focused on accelerating young women’s interests in the field while providing them with the knowledge, resources and confidence required to become future leaders in the industry. Tennille received a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a specialization in Finance from the University of British Columbia.
In her spare time, she enjoys attending spin classes, discovering new restaurants, and going for hikes with friends & family.
Aileen is the Chief Audit Executive for the IGM Financial Inc. group of companies: IG Wealth Management, Mackenzie Investments and Investment Planning Counsel. Prior to joining IGM in 2019, Aileen spent 9 years leading the Corporate Audit & Advisory group at Air Canada, responsible for the provision of internal audit and risk advisory services, including the administration of the confidential ethics hotline. Aileen also spent 17 years with Deloitte in three different service lines (audit & assurance, consulting and enterprise risk services) and two different countries (Canada and England).
The mother of two daughters, one studying Law at the University of Manitoba and the other studying Architecture at Dalhousie University, Aileen is also on the Board of Safety Services Manitoba. Past volunteer experience includes 6 years on the Management Council of Legal Aid Manitoba, 6 years on the Board of Winnipeg Harvest, 10 years on the Winnipeg Chapter Board of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) and she also served as Secretary and Charter member of the I Believe In Winnipeg Toastmasters club for a number of years.
Over the years, Aileen has also been actively involved in Folklorama, the largest and longest running multi-cultural festival of its kind in the world! Starting as a volunteer parent at the Pearl of the Orient Philippine Pavilion, her responsibilities over the years included, Pavilion Chair of VIPs and bus tours, Pavilion Co-coordinator, Pavilion Ambassador, and culminated in Aileen being one of four General Ambassadors responsible for representing all of Folklorama for its 49th year!
Aileen is a Chartered Accountant (CPA -CA), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and has her Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).
Alex Castaldi is a Senior Associate at Whitehorse Liquidity partners, a Toronto-based private equity firm that focuses on structured liquidity solutions for private equity portfolios.
Prior to joining Whitehorse, Alex worked as a Private Equity Associate at Fengate Asset Management and was responsible for deal execution and monitoring of direct private equity investments. Prior to Fengate, she worked at KPMG LLP in the Corporate Finance group, and as an auditor in the Consumer and Industrial Markets group.
Alex holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and has a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA,CA) designation. Alex is the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of West Toronto Community Services, a Toronto not-for-profit community health organization.
I graduated from Western University in April 2021 with my HBA from Ivey Business School. I had the opportunity to join Manulife Investments as a co-op student over the course of the Summer of 2020 and then was hired full time upon graduation in the Business Development Associate role. I was accepted into our Internal Development Program in November of 2021 and was promoted to the Internal Wholesaler position in January 2022. I am very passionate about sustainable investing as well as, promoting financial literacy. Outside of work I love to go on hikes, spend time with my family and read!
