About The Capital Markets Design Sprint

The Capital Markets Design Sprint is a business design competition that will challenge university students across Canadian schools to use research conducted by WCM and apply their design skills to the complex issue of true equity in capital markets. The event will enable students to not only engage in a meaningful conversation about the importance of gender and racial diversity, but also explore innovative solutions to this multifaceted business challenge.

Case Competition Format and Timeline

Any students attending universities across Canada are welcome to apply to participate in the Capital Markets Design Sprint with a team of 4-6 students. 

Team registration: October 30, 2020 - November 13, 2020 
Case Launch: November 14, 2020 
Submission deadline: November 20, 2020 at 5:00 pm EST
Round 1 judging: November 21 - 26, 2020 
Announcement of Finalists: November 27, 2020 

Final Round Event Agenda

6:00 – 6:15 PM – Opening remarks by Camilla Sutton (CEO of WCM) and Sarah Kaplan (Distinguished Professor & Director, Institute for Gender and the Economy (GATE)) with Judges Introduction
6:15 – 6:55 PM – Finalist presentation
7:00 – 7:20 PM – Judges decide the winner & First round of networking
7:25 – 7:35 PM – Winners announcement, Judge comments, Wrap up
7:40 – 8:00 PM – Second Round of Networking
