Susan Rimmer leads CIBC’s Global Corporate Banking team as Managing Director & Head, Global Corporate Banking. In this role, Ms. Rimmer is responsible for CIBC’s corporate banking, cash management and correspondent banking businesses across Canada, U.S., Europe and Asia.
Most recently, Ms. Rimmer was Managing Director & Global Head of CIBC’s Debt Capital Markets business. Her responsibilities included investment grade, high yield and government finance fixed income origination and syndication across Canada, U.S. and the U.K. She joined CIBC following a 15 year career in global capital markets and investment banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in London, U.K., and Toronto, Canada.
Ms. Rimmer is a member of the CIBC Bank Operating Committee and the Capital Markets Executive Committee. She was recognized as one of Canada’s top 100 Women by WXN in 2018. She chairs the Greenwood College School Foundation board and served as Co-Chair of the annual CIBC United Way Campaign 2017-2019. She holds an Honours BA from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau, France.
Meric has 18 years of experience in institutional finance, starting in the Equities Division of Goldman Sachs, New York. While at Goldman, Meric developed derivatives research around indices, ETF's, and options, for both pension funds and hedge funds. She later moved to Asia (Japan and Singapore) where she worked as an Equity derivative sales specialist focusing on hedge funds.
Meric Koksal joined CIBC Institutional Structuring Group in 2015. In that capacity, Meric helped structure investment solutions for the bank’s institutional clients. In April 2018, Meric moved to the Wealth Solutions Group at CIBC where she is the Deputy Head and leads the Structuring & Innovation group. Her team is responsible for the generation and pricing of CIBC’s Structured Notes, Market Linked GICs and all new product initiatives. Meric served as the co-chair of CIBC Global Markets Recruiting Committee. She is currently the business liaison for CIBC Continuing Education Program from Capital Markets and a member of the CM Learning Advisory Committee. She is also a member of the CIBC Inclusion and Diversity Advisory Council (IDAC).
Meric graduated from Hamilton College in New York, USA as a mathematics and economics double major. She is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. She served as the Co-Chair of the Whitney Public School council.
