Job Shadow Day Toronto - Spring 2024

WCM is excited to announce the return of Job Shadow Day Toronto in April 2024! WCM is inviting Toronto schools to send young women and gender-diverse high school students in grades 11 and 12 to spend a day downtown in the financial district and learn more about careers in finance.

Job Shadow Day is a free, day-long event, featuring interactive workshops, networking and mentoring sessions, presentations profiling women with diverse careers in finance, and an afternoon of job shadowing with a mentor who works in the industry. Job Shadow Day gives students a first-hand view of what a career in finance can look like.

Job Shadow Day has been run in Toronto since 2004 and more than 2,000 high school students have participated in this acclaimed high school event over its 19-year lifespan, many of whom have continued on to pursue careers in finance due to their experience with the event.Your students should attend to:

  1. Learn more about rewarding career opportunities in finance
  2. Understand more about the pathways into these careers. Including; courses to take in post-secondary and how to land a summer internship
  3. Hear positive messaging about the industry and break down myths associated with working in finance


Agenda:

8:30 - 12:00: Interactive Sessions at TD Securities
12:00- 12:30 pm: Students to travel in pre-assigned groups to afternoon firms
12:30 - 3:30 pm: Students attend 1 afternoon firm for job shadowing and presentations

Registration is first come, first serve. Register before March 22

**Students are responsible for making their own way to the morning host location and making their own way home from the afternoon firm.
