WCM is excited to announce the return of Job Shadow Day Calgary in October 2023! WCM is inviting Calgary schools to send young women and gender-diverse high school students in grades 11 and 12 to spend a day downtown in the financial district and learn more about careers in finance.

Job Shadow Day is a free, day-long event, featuring interactive workshops, networking and mentoring sessions, presentations profiling women with diverse careers in finance, and an afternoon of job shadowing with a mentor who works in the industry. Job Shadow Day gives students a first-hand view of what a career in finance can look like. Job Shadow Day has been run in Toronto since 2004 and we a thrilled to continue to host the event in cities across Canada!

Your students should attend to:

1. Learn more about rewarding career opportunities in finance
2. Understand more about the pathways into these careers. Including; courses to take in post-secondary and how to land summer internships
3. Hear positive messaging about the industry and break down myths associated with working in finance

Agenda:

8:30 - 12:00: Interactive Sessions hosted by National Bank
12:00- 12:30 pm: Students to travel in pre-assigned groups to afternoon firms
12:30 - 3:30 pm: Students attend one afternoon firm for job shadowing and presentations
