WCM Ontario is excited to host its inaugural charity fundraiser and social, Cards for a Cause. Following the same format as the very successful event run in Calgary for the past 5 years.

400+ women, men, and gender-diverse professionals from across multi-disciplinary professional backgrounds will gather for an incredible night of networking, cocktails, food, prizes, and a friendly game of poker while raising proceeds for a great cause. The event is open to all skill levels. This event aims to create a friendly and inclusive environment for players of all skill levels to feel welcomed.

As part of this annual event, revenue is donated to local charities that are making a significant impact on women and children in our community. This year we are proud to present The Red Door Shelter & The Albiona Centre as our selected charities. The evening will begin with an introduction and teaching session followed by a knock-out Texas Hold'em style tournament. Hors d’oeuvres and drinks will be served throughout the evening and exciting prizes to be won for the top poker players of the tournament.

CHARITIES

The Red Door Family Shelter provides emergency shelter and support for
women and children in Toronto affected by domestic abuse, families
experiencing a housing crisis, and refugee claimants with nowhere else to turn.

The Abiona Centre is a client-centered infant and early childhood mental
health organization that supports pregnant and parenting adolescents, aged
13–25. With donors’ support, each young mom is given access to prenatal
and postnatal care, while also gaining valuable insight into the best ways she
can care for her baby, while simultaneously completing her education, and
developing the skills needed to build a successful life for her and her child.

Ticket pricing includes: Hors d’oeuvres and drinks and is intended to cover the expenses of the event; any remaining funds, including sponsor donations, and silent auctions ins, will go to selected charities.
