WCM's Women in Leadership Network (WIL) is comprised of women in leadership roles in capital markets and affiliated industries.
This initiative evolves from the former Senior Women's Network (SWN) by moving beyond networking events. Our strategic goals are to (a) promote the business case for gender diversity at the executive table, (b) increase the numbers and impact of women in senior management and on boards, (c) strengthen the public profile of women leaders, and (d) enhance the pipeline of women ready for senior leadership ranks.
A new alliance has been created to help accelerate gender parity on boards. The Canadian Gender and Good Governance Alliance (CGGGA) is made of seven influential Canadian organizations dedicated to pushing forward gender equality in the workplace, especially on boards and in executive positions. May 4, 2016. This was the first of our two-part series for our Women In Leadership members to boost "Your Professional Brand" by leveraging LinkedIn. Join us for a fun evening to welcome spring and get a LinkedIn primer. Our guest speaker, Susan Kates, a marketing consultant and a Professor at Centennial College, will share strategies to create a powerful profile. Our first 25 registrants will be offered a complimentary professional headshot to be taken at the venue, which can be used in your LinkedIn profile.
Celebration of Trailblazing Women
On May 20, 2015 WIL hosted the first in a series of events Celebrating Trailblazing Women in the Capital Markets. The event featured a panel of accomplished women from investment banking who highlighted the deals and experiences that shaped their careers and an industry that has evolved significantly over the last 30 years. WIL's inaugural Boardroom Bound event took place on November 13, 2014. Following the release of the Government's Report entitled "Good for Business: A Plan to Promote More Women on Canadian Boards", the event offered insights from influential players from the public, private and recruitment sector, including The Honourable Kellie Leitch, MP, Minister of Labour and Minister of Status of Women to make the plan for more women on boards a reality.To learn more about this event, please click here.
