Moving Women into Leadership

The WCM Executive Coaching Award program provides six months of one on one executive coaching to award winners each year. To date, 50 women have won the Executive Coaching Award and have moved on to great successes in their careers.

In the Canadian capital markets, there is a significant drop in the representation of women at the senior management level. To address this, WCM designed and launched our Executive Coaching Award Program for high-performing women in the capital markets to support and accelerate their career trajectory and build a pipeline of talented female leaders for our industry.

Thanks to the support of our exclusive coaching partner, Felix Global Corp., this WCM program will provide coaching services to qualified senior women (see below for eligibility requirements) working in the capital markets industry. Each Executive Coaching Award provides up to six-months of free individual career coaching valued at $15,000.

Program Mandate

One-on-one support from a trained and experienced professional coach has been proven to help women plan their careers and equip themselves to compete for progressively senior roles. The ultimate goal of the WCM Executive Coaching Award Program is to provide an opportunity for experienced professionals to develop executive skills and enhance their likelihood of promotion.


To be considered for the WCM Executive Coaching Award, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Candidates must be currently employed in Canadian the capital markets industry and have at least 10 years experience in the industry
  • Candidates must be employed at a senior leadership level and apply with the support of their firm.
  • Candidates must be a member of WCM in good standing.

Criteria for Selection
  • Demonstrated commitment to career development as exemplified from the attainment of progressively senior roles
  • Emulates the vision and objectives of WCM
  • Proven ability to assume leadership roles and overcome obstacles
  • Exemplifies the characteristics of business leadership
Candidate Responsibilities

Candidates must be available within a three- to six-month period to work with Felix under a mutually agreed upon schedule. Once the award recipients are announced, a further memorandum of understanding will be provided at a special awards meeting. The memorandum will outline the time period and commitment expectations between the recipient and Felix.

Letters of Recommendation
Please attach two letters of recommendation. One must be from a manager or senior individual in your firm. These recommendations should demonstrate the endorsement by senior level executives regarding your potential for leadership and advancement.
