April 9th, 2018

WCM's Job Shadow Day is a free, day-long event, featuring interactive workshops, networking and mentoring sessions, presentations profiling women with diverse careers in the capital markets, and an afternoon of job shadowing with a mentor who works in the industry. Past Job Shadow Days have been a tremendous success as they have given students a first-hand view of the exciting careers in capital markets.

"We need to build this bigger, broader talent pipeline of women and we need to breakdown some of the myths. Bay Street isn't an all Boys Club...Bay Street has amazing career opportunities for women and young men, and the day is about showcasing that," says Camilla Sutton, President & CEO of WCM.

"Job Shadow Day is an opportunity to help build a very diverse workforce and ensure a strong pipeline of women of qualified women. This starts with high school, and highlighting interesting career opportunities....The career opportunities available in STEM typically are the higher paying roles, and we all need to encouraging girls to be thinking about that and preparing for that. That's the way of the future. "
