Position Description

WCM is currently seeking volunteer Ambassadors for its new Edmonton Sub-Chapter of the Alberta Steering Committee. The Ambassadors must have a strong commitment to the mission, strategies, and work of WCM. The Ambassador will report in to the Co-Chairs of the Steering Committee and appointed WCM Staff. Steering committee members will act as WCM ambassadors locally, by promoting and participating in WCM initiatives and cultivating a strong and diverse local network.

This ambassador will be asked to join one of two committees:

  • Post Secondary Student Sub-Committee which will focus on offering events & networking opportunities for young women in Post-Secondary schools in Edmonton.
  • Professional Networking Sub-Committee which focuses on hosting networking & social events for professionals in Edmonton’s financial sector who are interested in Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. 2-3 events are ideally planned each year. The committee takes ownership of planning these events with direction from WCM staff.

Role Requirements

  • Attend Steering Committee Meetings every 6-8 weeks.
  • Act as a WCM Chapter ambassador by promoting and participating in local and virtual WCM initiatives, programs and events, and leverage your network to raise the profile of WCM.

Required Skill / Experience

  • Currently working in the Canadian finance industry or related industry

  • Must be located in or near Edmonton
