Position Description

This position can be located in Toronto, Montreal or Ottawa.

Join the Investment and Pension Fund Team under the direction of Francois Dionne, where we work to support CMHC’s goals for financial stability and housing affordability. You will provide expertise in the management and administration of investments in private markets such as Real Estate, Infrastructure, Farmland, Private Debt and Private Equity. You help to execute investment strategies that are aimed to outperform benchmarks and to provide management assistance in achieving investment objectives. This permanent position is an exceptional opportunity within a dynamic and collaborative environment for an investment professional with excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate has experience with private market investments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop coherent market views for private market investments to facilitate investment discussions and decisions.
  • Monitor a portfolio of private investments and provide insights on how investments are positioned and how performance might evolve under different market circumstances.
  • Seek out investment options that maximize returns and recommend tactical asset allocations within the private market investments portfolio.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis on investment opportunities, historical trends and current market conditions.
  • Ensure that all contracts and transactions flow smoothly.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with asset managers, other institutional investors and a wide range of other stakeholders.

Required Skill / Experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in private market investments.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant designation such as Chartered Financial Analyst and/or CPA
