Position Description

We are seeking a Senior Analyst, Infrastructure Investments, with strong financial analysis and due diligence skills.

Reporting to the Director, Infrastructure, you will be a critical player on the investment team responsible for investing and managing capital for Nicola Infrastructure and Renewable Resources LP. You will primarily support the investment team in diligencing new opportunities, as well as participate in ongoing monitoring of existing investments.

The location of this role will be a hybrid work schedule based in our Vancouver or Toronto office.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Assist in screening and analysis of new investment opportunities – with a focus on co-investment opportunities as well as primary and secondary fund investments.
  • Assess the attractiveness of investment opportunities through market and industry research, financial modeling, and valuation analyses.
  • Prepare investment committee materials.
  • Ongoing monitoring of existing investments and preparation of regular reporting documents.
  • Assist in portfolio management functions including fund reporting, fund-level cashflow projections, risk-exposure analysis, and marketing material.
  • Undertake project work and other duties as required.
  • Actively engaging in ongoing learning and development to continuously improve skills and knowledge.

Required Skill / Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of related work experience in private infrastructure, investment banking, corporate development, corporate finance or management consulting.
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in business, accounting or finance.
  • Financial industry designation considered an asset (CFA, CPA, CA, or CBV).
  • Strong accounting, valuation, and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience conducting due diligence as part of M&A transactions.
  • The confidence to adapt to change. You are legally eligible to work in Canada for any employer.
