WCM is looking for a Manager to join our team and work closely with the Senior Director to plan and execute professional programming and events that serve to support WCM’s mission. 

Due to the nature of this role you must be able to work occasionally outside of regular business hours. Preference given to candidates residing in the GTA who can travel to events inside the downtown Toronto core.

Position Description

Key Responsibilities: 

Programs 

  • Support the Senior Director, Events, Program Strategy & Stakeholders in developing and executing WCM’s professional strategy and programming across Canada, including idea generation for innovative future programming that align with WCM’s strategic objectives
  •  Manage the following professional development programming from idea generation through execution, including but not limited to;
    •  Professional Mentorship Program
      • Collaborate with the Research team to suggest program improvements
      • Lead mentorship kick-off and onboarding
    • Aspire, Elevate, and Soar Programs
      •  Work with the Senior Director on course curriculum each year
      •  Manage sourcing and securing speakers, program on-boarding, and execution
    • Inclusive Leadership Program
      • Manage pre-event logistics, provide administrative support for sessions
      • Work with the Marketing and Communications team to transition this program from pilot to general membership 
  • Assist and provide support on three of WCM’s senior level professional programs
  • Assist and provide support on three of WCM’s major student events/programs

Events

  •  Manage professional development events from idea generation through execution including but not limited to: Monthly webinar series, partnered events, and ad-hoc events
  • Assist Senior Director with the following events: Champions of Change Gala, ED&I Summit, Steering Committee events 

Required Skill / Experience

  • Education, a degree in event management or a relevant field 
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience planning events on a national scale 
  • A passion for gender equity, diversity, and inclusion
  • Experience creating and executing curriculums & programs, or volunteer groups
  • Ability to work into the evenings when programs require flexibility (lieu time provided)
  • Experience building strategic relationships and partnerships
  • Demonstrated leadership skills 
  • Excellent and demonstrable written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated professionalism

Skills Considered an Asset, but Not Required 

  • Experience designing and launching digital programming and education
  • Experience running events for associations/non-profit organizations
  • Experience managing volunteer teams
  • A designation such as CMP 
  • Diversity and inclusion knowledge gained through formal education or employment
  • Bilingual - French/English
