Position Description
About the Role:
AGF Investments is AGF’s group of companies who manage and advise on a variety of investment solutions managed by its fundamental and quantitative investing teams. AGF services a wide range of clients from financial advisors and individual investors to institutional investors, including pension plans, corporate plans, sovereign wealth funds, and endowments and foundations.
The Manager, Institutional Business Management will play a key role in supporting the management and growth of AGF’s institutional business in North America including identifying opportunities and executing initiatives that support business transformation and aggressive growth in sales and revenues.
Your Responsibilities:
- Work with the institutional sales team in North America as well as with key internal partners to identify and implement enhancements and integrations with Salesforce, key external databases to facilitate, automate and transform the institutional sales-process, ensure dashboards are relevant and up-to-date and to help integrate and transform aspects of institutional sales, sales support and business management processes.
- Source and identify priority sales opportunities from both internal and external institutional databases/resources in a number of institutional and intermediary oriented channels in both U.S. and Canada• Identify via data analytics/business intelligence high propensity institutional sales opportunities for key AGF strategies relative to key competitors globally
- Establish and manage institutional lead generation/conversion business processes and sales campaigns – identifying key prospects and working with the Marketing & Innovation, Sales Effectiveness and Sales teams as well as other key internal partners to ensure the campaigns are designed to maximize the chance of success with the most appropriate prospects included and to ensure effective, actionable campaign reporting, ensuring sales opportunities are prioritized and systematically followed-up by the relevant salesperson.
- Involvement in and project management of business initiatives that are designed to enhance and transform AGF’s institutional business platform and competitiveness and facilitate future business growth.
- Work with key partners, institutional leadership team leads and the VP, U.S. Business Management to produce and where practical, automate, ongoing business reporting for Senior and Executive Management and Fund/Entity Boards around institutional business metrics and key performance indicators.
- Assist the VP, U.S. Business Management onboard and manage key external vendor relationships with external service providers to the North American institutional business including establishing KPI/reporting metrics for vendors ensuring that AGF’s initial and ongoing vendor management requirements are exceeded or met and making recommendations to select new and evolve service providers, as required.
- Act as key liaison with AGF’S Finance team and VP, U.S. Business Management in the expense management, budget forecasting and corporate planning process for AGF’s global institutional business.
- Assist the VP, U.S. Business Management in liaising with NYSE Arca and Nasdaq to ensure that ongoing reporting requirements and filings are completed, liaising with internal AGF functions and external service providers, as required.
- Regularly review U.S. fund and ETF website to ensure that sections and documents are kept up to date.
- Act as a key liaison with the AGF audit team to assist the VP, U.S. Business Management and institutional regional team heads respond to information requests and implement recommendations for audits relating to the institutional business and related legal entities.
Required Skill / Experience
- Undergraduate degree required in Finance, Commerce, Economics or Business oriented discipline;
- CFA charter-holder or other professional investment designations (CAIA, CIM etc) desirable,
- 3-5 years of investment industry experience is ideal;
- Some experience and/or interest in a combination of public, private markets/alternative
- investment experience
- Knowledge of, and interest in, investment markets, trends and products in the institutional
- and intermediary markets in North America is required;
- Ability to work with other teams and functions, to deliver key initiatives under tight time
- deadlines, with strict attention to detail is essential;
- Strong organizational, time management, project management and analytical skills are critical to success in the role;
- Excellent communication, presentation and business writing skills;
- Knowledge of and experience with Salesforce/CRM databases, Power BI and with investment industry databases such as eVestment, Morningstar Direct, MMD, Bloomberg etc. would be strongly desirable;
- A passion for the investment industry and a desire to play a key role in helping to aggressively grow a strategically important business line
