Position Description

We are currently seeking a full-time permanent Derivative Operations Analyst to join our Portfolio Operations team

The Derivative Operations team works closely with the Portfolio Management, Risk Management and Accounting teams to deliver operational and transactional support. Reporting directly to the Director, Portfolio Operations, the Derivative Analyst will be required to have strong knowledge of fixed income securities and experience in derivative operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the derivative and collateral management operations at RPIA.
  • Manage the existing and new relationships for ISDA counterparties, futures clearing merchants, swap execution facilities, and other derivative systems.
  • Perform a variety of middle and back-office duties and coordinate with front office traders to ensure completeness and accuracy of derivative systems.
  • Complete daily derivative cash and positions reconciliations, issuing margin calls, affirming OTC derivative transactions, and preparing transaction blotters.
  • Analyze MTM discrepancies, while highlighting material valuation variances to portfolio management team.
  • Lead derivative related projects for product launches, workflow design, and vendor onboards.
  • Monitor all aspects of operations and controls, including processing trade, minimizing operational risk, and responding internal and external inquiries.
  • Maintain an ongoing collaborative working relationship with counterparties and prime brokers.
  • Respond to ad-hoc projects and additional to day-to-day duties as required.

Required Skill / Experience

  • Relevant education and previous experience are required
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications specifically Excel, VBA, and Python scripting
  • Enrollment in CFA is strongly recommended
  • Solid understanding of fixed income securities and derivatives (CDS, IRS, OIS, Futures) as well as investment concepts and strategies.
  • 3-5 years experience in Operations is preferred
  • Previous experience in Derivative Operations is required
  • Have working knowledge of Bloomberg
