WCM is currently seeking Co-Chairs for an Edmonton sub-chapter of the Alberta Steering Committee. Together, the Co-Chairs will lead the Edmonton sub-chapter, which will consist of approximately 10 committee members, to ensure that all committees are aligned with the goals and strategic priorities of WCM. Co-Chairs must have a strong commitment to the mission, strategies, and work of WCM, and will report to the WCM National office and work in collaboration with WCM Staff. Professionals of any gender are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be located in or near Edmonton.

Position Description

Develop, sustain, and manage an engaged and diverse chapter. This includes working with WCM on the recruitment of new committee members, organizing and leading Edmonton Steering Committee Meetings every 6-8 weeks, meeting logistics, and maintenance of regular communication with Steering Committee Members.

  • Develop and achieve Edmonton Chapter objectives each year, in collaboration with the National WCM office.
  • Communicate regularly with WCM Staff and WCM’s other Chapter Steering Committee Co-Chairs nationally to ensure all activities across chapters are aligned.
  • Co-Chairs serve a three-year term, renewable once for a second two-year term, upon request. In the final year of the Chair, a Vice-Chair or Co-Chair will be appointed by the WCM national office in consultation with the current Chair for succession.

Required Skill / Experience

  • WCM member in good standing

  • Previous experience with WCM as a volunteer, taken a WCM program or attended WCM events

  • 5+ years of professional experience within the financial services industry

  • Experience dealing with multiple stakeholders and volunteer committees

  • Strong conceptual skills and intellectual insight as it relates to diversity and inclusion

  • Demonstrated ability and experience to lead a committee of senior professionals
