Position Description
We are currently looking for an Associate to report to the Chief of Staff & Strategy, Portage. This role involves supporting the Chief of Staff in planning and delivering strategic, operational, and growth initiatives to advance Portage’s priorities. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting our team on various initiatives, optimizing processes / meeting efficiency, and managing ecosystem engagement. The Associate role entails collaboration across teams in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
Support strategic planning and execution including strategy development/updates, linking the strategy to the financial plan and tracking progress against platform OKRs
Support presentation preparation for CEO’s internal and external commitments (e.g., conferences, team offsites, fireside chats, journalist interviews)
Lead or contribute to ad hoc strategic initiatives under CEO sponsorship involving the planning phase, managing workstreams and collaborating with stakeholders, both internal and external
Support the development and implementation of our communications strategy, both internal and external, including liaising with teams to finalize external-facing output
Support coordination across business teams (Investor Relations, Legal, Finance) and partnerships team to enable fundraising and operational objectives
Support the Research and Investor Relation teams in quarterly reporting to Portage’s investors and internal portfolio company reviews including developing and editing presentation material
Required Skill / Experience
- 2+ years of experience in strategic consulting, investment banking, investments, or corp. strategy
Self-starter – able to take initiative, prioritize and work independently – in a fast-paced environment
Organized with a high attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities
Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to synthesize thoughts and confident in expressing a view while willing to listen to different perspectives
Strong project management and analytical skills
Demonstrates consistent reliability in meeting deadlines and expectations as well as humility by putting the team first and creating a collaborative work environment
