Realize Capital Partners is a fund-of-funds manager for the Government of Canada’s Social Finance Fund. Realize Capital Partners is a joint venture between Rally Assets and Relay Ventures.
Position Description
We are recruiting committee members for three new advisory committees to advise on Realize Fund I: a Sector Advisory Committee, an Investment Advisory Committee and a Governance Advisory Committee.
The Social Finance Fund (SFF) is a Government of Canada initiative to strengthen social purpose organizations and accelerate the growth of Canada’s social finance market. This initiative, an investment initiative not a granting program, will support charities, nonprofits, social enterprises, co-operatives and other social purpose organizations to access flexible financing opportunities through fund managers. Greater access to social finance will help organizations grow, innovate and enhance their social and environmental impacts.
Realize Capital Partners, a joint venture between Rally Assets and Relay Ventures, is one of three fund-of-funds managers that has been selected to deliver SFF. As the fund manager of Realize Fund I, we are looking for input and representation from a broad array of individuals on a pan-Canadian basis to inform the implementation of Realize Fund I.
Required Skill / Experience
We’re aiming to establish committees whose members have relevant subject matter expertise and who reflect the diversity of communities across Canada, specifically groups that have been traditionally marginalized. Committees will have 3-9 members, depending on the committee. These are advisory committees, not decision-making bodies. Final investment decisions remain with Realize Fund I’s investment committee.
- The Governance Advisory Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its responsibilities to establish and review its governance practices, to evaluate the functioning of committees and to oversee the process of recruiting qualified candidates to be recommended for election as committee members
- The Investment Advisory Committee will provide expert knowledge and guidance in areas such as investment strategy, portfolio construction and portfolio management in order to achieve the mandate of the SFF
- The Sector Advisory Committee will help identify and build relationships with key stakeholders and networks who may be potential partners, investors or collaborators. The SAC will focus specifically on advancing the goals of social equity, gender equality and Indigenous reconciliation in Realize Fund I’s strategy in order to achieve the mandate of the SFF
