WCM's Mentor Program has provided more than 700 female capital market professionals with senior mentors in the industry since 1998.
This valuable mentor program pairs Protégées with mentors outside of their firm for a 12-month period and provides executive coaching sessions along the way to both Protégées and mentors to provide guidance on how to maximize the mentor relationship. Mentors are senior men and women who are dedicated to advancing women in the industry and are committed to providing invaluable support and advice to Protégées.
Established in 1998, the WCM Mentorship Program has been fundamental in helping advance and retain women in Canadian capital markets. The program is designed to offer female Protégées with three or more years of full-time experience in capital markets a unique opportunity to advance their career development. With a mentor's assistance, Protégées can establish career goals, identify direction and develop strategies to overcome obstacles. Protégées will typically be paired with a mentor from a different firm who will share their knowledge, experience and offer guidance to help work towards their goals. For mentors, the program is equally rewarding as it is an opportunity to coach, motivate, empower and give back to the community by helping shape future female leaders. Information shared is treated highly confidential and therefore the program provides a safe environment for career and personal development.
The Mentorship Program runs from January to December annually.
