WCM Survey Results: Perspectives of Men & Women in Capital Markets

Join us on April 27th for an engaging presentation to announce the results of Women in Capital Market's Perspective on Capital Markets survey completed by the men and women working in Canadian capital markets. Throughout the last four months we have examined the most prevalent factors influencing the retention of women in our industry, and the results are extraordinary. Both men and women working in the Canadian Capital Markets were asked to answer the same set of questions about their perceptions on fit, mindset, and growth opportunities in the industry. The presentation is a unique opportunity to better understand how women and men working in the industry perceive their opportunities to advance in the capital markets, and what challenges they face. Will perceptions of the industry differ among men and women? The research, conducted by eemerge, an analytics and HR consulting firm, reveals results that we have not seen before.

After the presentation, there will be a panel discussion with men and women from the industry to help engage with the insights from our survey results. The panel will discuss their perspectives and experience championing gender diversity and the measurable actions that contribute to a healthy ecosystem for inclusive leadership, retention and advancement in a true meritocracy. In particular, the panel will focus on what men, at any point in their career, can do as allies for championing gender diversity. Panelists will tackle the most pervasive themes in gender diversity challenges such as:

- unconscious bias in men and women, Corporate Canadian culture and the role it has in conditioning leadership
- strategies around inclusivity and talent management when you are on a team or in a leadership role
- why all genders need to be a part of disrupting the status quo, and why it should be a priority for everyone
