WCM SheBiz is a day-long event that features speakers from a variety of industries as well as interactive activities for young women in grades 9-11, accompanied by a teacher.
Through this unique forum, the attendees are exposed to the numerous and exciting opportunities available to women in business! The free day-long event features guest speakers from a variety of industries as well as interactive and engaging activities for the students such as a trading game or case activity. Attendees will have access to business leaders, business topics, and exposure to numerous and existing career opportunities available to women in business.
The event has been offered free of charge every year to all attendees thanks to the generosity of WCM and its sponsors. Space is limited, and as a result, attendance is limited to 10 students and one teacher from each school. Registration will be available via the WCM website and will open at 9am on October 2nd.
SheBiz exposes young women to a wide range of business careers and female role models and business leaders who are passionate about their industries. The objective of SheBiz is to encourage more young women to pursue careers in business. Given the age of the participants, the expectation is not that each young woman leaves the event knowing exactly what she wants to do after high school and hopefully university. Rather, the hope is that participants gain a perspective on the myriad of opportunities available to them and that they start to think about what might be an area of interest or a fit for them down the road and how that should shape their current educational choices.
