WCM Alberta Chapter
We are honoured to join the ranks of more than 2,000 women across Canada who are part of the WCM network. Through our capital markets careers, we have been surprised by how few women we meet in boardrooms, in the C-suite and generally across the industry in Alberta. There is certainly a need for professional development programs and networking opportunities for women to grow their careers and retain top female talent in Alberta finance.
Through our chapter, we aspire to support women working in Alberta's financial services industry to reach their potential, advance in their careers, and to inspire our industry to build diverse and talented teams.
Develop professional skills, learn about relevant industry topics and trends, strengthen your network and make new connections to propel you to the next stage in your career.

Founded in 2016, WCM Alberta (formerly Calgary)'s initiatives support WCM's national mission to accelerate gender diversity across the financial industry and corporate boardrooms of Canada. In Alberta, we offer professional development events and programs for women at all career levels and work with local firms to increase awareness of WCM and accelerate gender diversity in our city.
WCM's popular Lunch & Learns are roundtable opportunities to get up close and personal with an esteemed senior leader in the industry and gain knowledge from her experiences. Other Alberta hosted events, including our Annual Poker Tournament, provide a platform for women to build strong professional networks and grow and diversify our finance community across Alberta.
WCM Professional and University Mentorship Programs pairs female protégées with a mentor for a twelve month period, providing support and guidance for protégées in establishing career goals, advice and strategies to move your career forward.
With a focus on building the pipeline of female talent, WCM's student programming serves to educate young women about the rewarding career opportunities in business and STEM through events like WCM's SheBiz for female high school students and WCM's UniConnect event series for female university students.
Welcome to Alberta's WCM community.
