Working parents have always had to juggle multiple responsibilities both at home and in the workplace. The Covid-19 pandemic revealed how the inequalities in caregiving and unpaid domestic labor affect women more profoundly than men, which has led to an exodus of women from the workforce – coined the “she-cession” – and eliminated decades of progress in gender equality. While hiring is rebounding in many places, women are still in the midst of the she-cession.
As we look to return to our previous workspaces, it is critical that we build back better and choose ways of working that work for women, parents and caregivers, BIPOC, and 2SLGBTQ+ folks.
The focus on improving the return to office is one of the reasons why WCM has partnered with Hacking Sophia for our Uncramming the Work-Life Overload event coming this Fall.
As time-starved working parents living in the Cram it all in Years, when work and family collide, there’s a never-ending stream of “more to do”. Join Hacking Sophia co-founders Janet Winkler and Katie Diamond for an immersive digital workshop to start rethinking how you spend time to uncram your life and get on the road to time well spent.
About Hacking Sophia
Hacking Sophia was created to radically improve the lives of time-starved working parents. Hacking Sophia’s program, The Sophia Project, focuses on intentional subtraction, an essentialist, less-is-more approach to creating impact at work and at home. Bringing together working parents who are balancing similar demands, The Sophia Project creates spaces for them to share, connect, empower one another and be supported with frameworks to see what is serving them and subtract what is not.
