International Women's Day is a day we hold close to our hearts. This year we celebrate equality: the progress to date and the road towards truly achieving it. Today, we hope our entire community of members, allies, sponsors and partners recognizes the progress we have made as an industry and commit to having greater ambitions in the future.

In celebration of IWD, we created internal communications and marketing plans to support all of our sponsors in showcasing the incredible work they do, today and everyday, in accelerating gender diversity in Canadian finance.

IWD Memberships- for the entire week and until March 9, we are offering 50% off all WCM memberships. Now is the perfect time to join the movement, pay it forward and reap the benefits of a WCM membership!

Bank of Canada Event- on Thursday March 5th we hosted 600 professionals, who gathered with keen interest to hear the Bank of Canada's Governor Stephen S. Poloz offer an Economic Progress Report. We are proud to have offered professionals from across many industries, the opportunity to hear pertinent insights on the state of the Canadian economy, especially at such a dynamic time. Together, we put a spotlight on diversity in celebration of IWD and united as a collective on our interests in innovation and the economy.

Emerging Leaders- hosting our second session for this group of mid-senior professionals as they continue their journey towards professional development through tangible skill-building workshops; designed to support their career advancement.

Mentor lunch and learn with Lori Messer- in an inspiring conversation, Camilla Sutton, WCM CEO, asked industry leader Lori Messer, Global Head, Capital Markets Operations at RBC Capital Markets, a series of questions around her role, her career journey and her best advice for a crowd of participants, interested in learning takeaways that they too can apply to their own career progression. Join one or our upcoming WCM events.

Vancouver and Calgary Steering Committees- another key planning session with our Vancouver and Calgary chapters as we move towards greater impact in our events for professionals and students for our west coast community.

Professional Mentorship- this week we hosted our Facet5 debrief session for protegees in our professional mentorship program, in person and from cities across the country by phone. This was an eye-opening session where attendees looked deeply into their personality traits, leaving protegees with key learnings on how to better understand and play to their strengths, while learning strategies on how to manage areas that are more challenging in professional environments and situations.

WCM Calgary- hosted a mentor lunch with Casey Wilson, CFO Boulder Energy who offered a full room of attendees, key takeaways on how to build a rewarding and successful career in finance. Casey shared her experiences and challenges as well as advice on how to maximize your potential and achieve your professional objectives.

WCM and CFA Society Toronto- hosted a congratulatory breakfast for the award winners of our partnered scholarship.  We are thrilled to offer the valuable resources and support that come with this award to these future industry leaders as they work tirelessly towards this significant financial designation.

Camilla Sutton, WCM CEO joined Universum as their keynote speaker for their best of Diversity and Inclusion in Canada Awards. Notable recognition for firms that are leaders in D&I for early talent.

Thought Leadership- Emily Jackson, host of the National Post's 'Down to Business' podcast interviewed Camilla Sutton, where they had a lively discussion on diversity and inclusion in celebration of International Women's Day.

Investor Leadership Network - WCM is proud to be a part of progress with the collaborative approach taken by the ILN (Investor Leadership Network). The CIOs have bold ambitions.

Research - our research project with Diversio on corporate culture continues to gain traction. We held more readouts with senior leaders within our sponsor network this week. We love seeing our sponsors commitment and focus on the importance of culture within our network.
