WCM | The Hustle

By WCM | March 29, 2021

The Hustle is the place to get caught up on what's happening behind the scenes - keeping our community updated on the work, the progress and hustle driving the acceleration of diversity in our industry. We continue celebrating our members, friends, and allies who are stepping up and choosing to challenge. This is the last chance to nominate someone in your life who has helped you challenge, raise awareness, or take action by tagging them in a post and including the hashtag #wcmally. Submissions will be featured on our social accounts and receive a free WCM membership. You can participate on LinkedInInstagramTwitter or Facebook.

Virtual Networking Workshop - On March 17, over 150 WCM members joined Felix Global's Susan Richardson to take part in a networking workshop. Following the workshop, members had the opportunity to put their new networking tactics to use in small group speed networking!

Equity Workshop - Last week a highly engaged group of WCM Members took part in The Equity Workshop. This event built on the findings of WCM's research report The Equity Equation. The event featured an overview of the report's findings, small group discussion about the findings and recommendations of the report, and wrapped with a sharing of knowledge learned and ideas to make progress on the issue of equity in Capital Markets. Thank you to our moderators: Mary Ann Mendes, Rosanna Bruni, Claudia Huisman, Manijeh Colabella, and Brandon Newell

Challenging STEMceptions: Rewriting STEM Culture - On March 13, WCM attended the University of Toronto's Student led event, Challenging STEMceptions: Rewriting STEM Culture. With an amazing panel of speakers and student in attendance, the event was a great success for students to learn more about working in STEM and business roles and how they can start their careers on the right foot.

McMaster Degroote Event - In partnership with the MBA Finance Students Association, WCM hosted an event featuring Capital Markets and Finance professionals from across the country that facilitated discussions about career paths, available opportunities and the backgrounds of our WCM panelists. The event gave current MBA Students at McMaster University and opportunity to connect and learn from these incredible participating professionals: Emma Smith, Baris Ozyetis, Claire Fleming and Carla Marsh!

Now that's hustle!
