WCM Names its 2023-2024 National Board of Directors

TORONTO, ON (May 26, 2023) – Women in Capital Markets (WCM), a national not-for-profit organization that creates solutions to accelerate gender diversity in the Canadian financial services industry, held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on May 24, 2023. As part of the formal proceedings, WCM announced the slate of National Board of Directors for the 2023-2024 term, including the reappointment of six members of its Board of Directors, including: Monique Allen, Executive Vice President, Data & Technology, OMERS; Brad Black, Managing Director and Global Head, Financial Solutions, ‎CIBC Capital Markets; Giulia Cirillo, Chief Human Capital Officer, Alithya; Tamara Finch, Executive Managing Director & Global Head of Financial Sponsors, TD Securities; David Garg, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development, Sun Life; Jennifer Glista, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships & Platform Sales, Receptiviti; Deland Kamanga, Group Head, BMO Wealth Management; Joanne O’Hea, Managing Director, Equity Capital Markets, RBC Capital Markets; and Mary Vitug, Capital Markets Professional. The list of all Directors and their positions on the Board are noted below.

During the meeting, WCM full members voted in favour of rebranding the organization, as a next step in the organization's growth. "Our members and our Board of Directors are in agreement; a new name and identity will help us to realize our full potential," explained Lara Zink, president and CEO, WCM. "This approach will enable us to be more inclusive of our member and sponsor community. What will not change is our continued focus on accelerating equity for all women in finance, at every stage of their career. There is no question that there is still a lot of work to be done in this regard." The new brand will be launched in the Fall, 2023.

WCM and its Board extends its thanks to outgoing Board Directors Nathalie Clark, EVP, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary, Aurora Cannabis Inc., and Halina von dem Hagen, Treasurer and Global Head of Capital Management, Manulife for their generous contribution of time and commitment provided to WCM and its Board over their tenure. Nathalie served on the Board since 2014, serving as Secretary, Vice Chair, Chair and Past Chair during this time. Halina served on the Board as a Director for one year.
