As Research Associate, you’ll work closely with WCM’s Chief Strategy Officer to build on WCM’s established body of industry research, support the execution of industry-wide research initiatives, and the creation of reports, handbooks and other forms of thought-leadership. The ultimate goal of WCM’s research and advocacy work is to build the industry’s equity literacy and inspire and empower equity, diversity and inclusion practices. WCM is a national not-for-profit organization founded in 1995. Our mission is to accelerate equity, diversity and inclusion in Canada’s finance industry. We execute on our mission by building the industry’s equity literacy, amplifying diverse talent, and uniting the industry, through advocacy, research, programming, events and recruitment. WCM is the reflection of Canadian financial institutions joining together to collaboratively accelerate diversity and equality at an industry level, an approach that is unique to finance. Our partners include the major Canadian bank-owned dealers, independent and foreign dealers, asset managers, insurance firms, major pension plans, regulatory agencies, exchanges and advisory firms. 


  • Support the development and execution of WCM’s multiple research projects to support WCM’s strategic objectives, including survey development and creation, data analysis, summarizing findings, and administrative and communication support.
  • Research ED&I best practices to inform thought-leadership, and identify influencers, speakers and coaches; and peer analysis;
  • Brainstorming, writing and editing written products.


  • Education, a bachelor’s degree
  • Demonstrated professional experience or educational background in equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Experience or training in survey design, using digital survey platforms, and analyzing and interpreting survey data
  • Experience conducting research
  • Excellent and demonstrable writing abilities
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated professionalism and strong communication skills 
  • Highly organized and proven ability to take initiative. 
  • You are very attentive to detail. You’re creative and innovative, but realistic;
  • You consistently deliver high-quality work, and are receptive to feedback;
  • You’re highly organized, great at managing multiple projects simultaneously, and responsible;
