Jennifer Reynolds
President & CEO

Women in Capital Markets

Jennifer Reynolds is the President and CEO of Women in Capital Markets and has been an active advocate and supporter of the advancement of women in the industry over her career. Prior to joining WCM, Jennifer spent 15 years working in the capital markets industry, primarily in Investment Banking, holding senior roles with BMO Capital Markets and in the venture capital industry with OMERS Ventures. Jennifer is a Director on the Board of the Canada Development Investment Corporation ("CDEV"), Director on the Board of Women’s College Hospital Foundation, and is a former Member of the Ontario Venture Capital Fund Advisory Committee, Chair of the Board of Advisors of the Microskills Business Incubator, and Director on the Board of Studio 180, an independent, Toronto based theatre company. Jennifer is also active in her community having served as an Honorary Chair of the Princess Margaret Hospital Weekend Walk to End Women's Cancers and a Member of the YWCA Women of Distinction Committee.​In 2015, ​she was named a Women's Executive Network (WXN) Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner. Jennifer is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Women's Leadership program, and she received her MBA from McGill University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Economics and Political Science from McGill University. Jennifer also holds the Institute of Corporate Directors Designation, ICD.D.
Annie Smith
Director of Operations

Women in Capital Markets

Annie Smith is the Director of Operations at Women in Capital Markets. Having spent much of her career working alongside women in the investment industry, Annie has seen first-hand the vital role they have played – and continue to play – in maintaining the efficiency and competitiveness of Canada's capital markets.

Annie joined WCM after serving as a Managing Director at the Investment Industry Association of Canada (IIAC). She has also worked at the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), and represented CFA Institute in Canada in her role as Vice President with a global public affairs and communications agency.

Throughout her career, Annie has been a passionate supporter of colleagues in the early stages of their professional development. This commitment to mentorship and volunteerism aligns strongly with WCM's goal to "attract and develop a growing pool of talented professionals and advance those women into senior leadership positions in the industry".

Annie is a graduate of Carleton University and has served as a volunteer and fundraiser for several local and national charities.

Katie Squires-Thompson
Marketing Manager

Women in Capital Markets

Katie Squires-Thompson is the Marketing Manager of Women in Capital Markets and is very passionate about the advancement of women in the workforce.

With a background in writing, video production, web design and social media and a strong interest in marketing, Katie brings a unique perspective and diverse skill set to the WCM team. She previously worked in film production where she wrote scripts and produced videos and media kits for clients including the Canadian Transportation Agency, Berkshire Hathaway Home Services and the Veterans Affairs Canada and worked with Epoch Multimedia to develop the interactive e-book 1812: Who Won the War? for high school classrooms across Canada and the United States. Katie's creativity and interest in web-design drove her to start her own business designing websites for local companies.

Katie attended Queen's University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Film and Media Studies.

Sara Anderson
Manager of Programming & Partner Relations

Women in Capital Markets

Sara came to WCM through her passion for gender diversity and equality. She earned her Bachelor's degree at the University of Toronto where she deepened her interests in women and gender studies in the History, Political Science and Women and Gender Studies faculties. With her ideologies of gender politics and extensive background in office management, Sara decided to join the WCM team to pursue the advancement of female representation in the Canadian economy in order to create a positive example on a global sphere.

Sara Anderson is also a professional photographer specializing in documentary and portrait styles. With photography, Sara hopes to influence the current portrayal of women in imagery positively by contributing to a movement of realism.

She enjoys bringing a creative perspective to the tasks at hand in the WCM office. She is thrilled to be working in the field of gender diversity and being part of an organization that is remodeling the future of female representation.

Lisa Morra
Marketing Coordinator

Women in Capital Markets

Lisa Morra is the newest member to the team, joining as WCM's Marketing Coordinator. Previously working within the advertising industry, Lisa brings a creative skill set and a variety of insight to the WCM team. As a recent graduate from Humber College, Lisa is super excited to grow her experience with WCM and share her passion for gender diversity within the industry and throughout the world. While earning her degree in advertising, Lisa worked with clients such as SickKids, HydroOne and TELUS where she expanded her interests within user experience and web analytics.

Now at WCM, Lisa will oversee most marketing initiatives and handle the design and representation of WCM alongside her team member, Katie. Lisa strongly believes in a positive representation of women throughout the capital markets industry and understands the important role women play within all jobs. In doing so, her passion and dedication is excited to shine with the WCM team and work at creating a positively diverse industry.
