Why I'm Involved with WCM:

WCM strives to further introduce and establish a strong presence for women within the field of finance during the ongoing fight for gender equality, by allowing women to come together and advocate for each other. Why I'm involved with WCM: 

Women in Capital Markets has a wonderful platform encouraging young women to pursue a career in finance. Why I'm Involved with WCM

Why I'm Involved with WCM:

Promoting diversity in capital markets is vital for enhancing decision-making and ensuring market relevance. By actively supporting WCM and its mission, I hope we can make a significant impact in setting new industry standards, attracting a broader talent pool, and driving innovation.

Bio:

As a graduate of the University of Sherbrooke, Catherine has held the role of private investment analyst at Intact since 2021. Catherine's dedication to community engagement has been a constant priority, and she is deeply committed to addressing the issue of female underrepresentation in the finance field.

WCM's endeavors resonate closely with Catherine's passions, and she is eager to contribute to the group's forthcoming endeavors. Outside of work, Catherine prioritizes staying active, enjoying the outdoors, and engaging in highly competitive board game tournaments that often turn into friendship battlegrounds.

Why I'm Involved with WCM:

Diversity, equity, and inclusion is a cause close to my heart. As a woman who has made her place in the investment industry, it saddens me to see that more than 20 years into my career, there is still a huge gender gap in our industry, even more so in leadership roles. It is important for me to give back and help the next generation. I hope that by sharing my experiences and how I got where I am today, I can motivate young women to choose a career in capital markets.


Biography

Annie Laliberté is Vice-President, Global Equities at Addenda Capital. She leads the team responsible for the management of International, Global, and US Equity mandates. Annie has been with Addenda since 2012, taking on roles of increasing responsibilities within the Global equity team. Prior to that she held different roles related to research and portfolio management at CIBC Global Asset Management from 2002 to 2012 and she started her career in 2000 working at Jarislowsky Fraser. Annie holds a bachelor’s degree in businessadministration from HEC Montréal and the CFA designation. She also completed a certificate in Executive Leadership from Cornell University.

Why I'm Involved with WCM

Having personally benefited from the guidance and support of influential women in finance throughout my career, I recognize the critical role that female mentors play in the professional development of young talent. I believe that being involved in WCM can help promote a community where women feel supported and empowered to pursue careers within the financial sector.

Biography

Elisabeth has been an Equities Analyst at Global Alpha Capital Management since August 2021. Her focus lies on the Sustainability, Utilities and Industrials sectors. Having always been passionate about sustainability, she completed a Masters in Environmental Assessment at Concordia University in May 2023.

Prior to her role at Global Alpha, she worked at Research Capital Corporation as an Associate in Fixed Income Sales and Trading. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from the John Molson School of Business majoring in Finance and International business.
