WCMSheBiz Toronto 2019 | 8th annual conference with impact, exposing high school students to careers in Business and STEM

By WCM | December 03, 2019

TORONTO | December 3, 2019 - On Friday November 29, WCM proudly hosted nearly 400 female high school students from across the Greater Toronto Area for our 8th annual WCMSheBiz.  Since inception, WCM has hosted over 6500 high school students nationwide, for this impactful, free, day-long conference that educates young women on the exciting career opportunities in Business and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). The day included presentations from industry leaders, successful entrepreneurs and empowering role models across all disciplines and left students energized, curious and interested in planning their future academic and career paths.

WCM has been developing the pipeline of women starting from high school to the highest career ranks in Canadian finance for the past 25 years.  Our high school programming is designed to educate, inspire and empower the future generation of female leaders in finance.  Through unique exposure to the industry, role models and resources, we aspire to increase the representation of young women entering STEM and business academics and careers in these fields.

It is with the commitment of our dedicated partners that we bring WCMSheBiz to life and collaboratively work to close the gender gap in Canadian finance.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor Burgundy Asset Management Ltd. and host sponsor Rotman Commerce, University of Toronto.
