WCM | The Virtual Hustle

By WCM | May 29, 2020

Return to Bay Street (RTBS) is in full swing. This week saw the 37 candidates who have secured first round interviews participate in a virtual HR panel and then break off into groups for interview preparation. Having one industry wide returnship program showcases the power of collaboration.

Technical Skills Workshops - WCM, in our long standing partnership with The Marquee Group, hosted a technical skills two part course; Python 1 Core Data.  Leveraging this time to do a deep dive into building their technical skills in computer coding and language, participants demonstrated that they are exactly what the future of finance looks like.

Vancouver and Calgary Steering Committees - were held this week as we build on more national virtual offerings to support professionals and students development across the country.

WCM UniConnect - hosted a small virtual gathering where students were able to engage in a question and answer session with industry professionals to hear about the impactful careers in finance and received inside tips on landing their first role.

Virtual platform changes - we have migrated our virtual offerings to Webex, thanks to the technical support of Keith De Abreu and Daniel Grant of Cisco.

Upcoming Research - A deep dive into the experiences of capital markets professionals during the Covid-19 pandemic will be launched on Tuesday. This research is intended to support firms in their leadership approaches to workplace culture and workload; to better support employees during these complicated times.
