On Thursday, November 17, 2016, more than 250 industry leaders gathered in Toronto to pay tribute to three individuals who have combined professional excellence with a demonstrated commitment to advancing and supporting women in capital markets.

Following the keynote address by Michele Romanow, "Dragon" on CBC's Dragons' Den and Co-Founder of Snap By Groupon, the 2016 WCM Leadership Awards were presented to:

2016 WCM Rising Star Award - Eileen Jurczak, Director, Trading Products at BMO Capital Markets

Award for Leadership – Male - Steve Banquier, Managing Director, Co-Head, Prime Brokerage and Head, Automated Execution, TD Securities

Award for Leadership – Female - Marian Lawson, Global Head, Financial Institutions and Transaction Banking at Scotiabank

"Steve, Marian and Eileen have all proven their commitment to advancing women in their organizations and in the industry more broadly. These leaders know that we will be more competitive, more innovative and more profitable if leadership teams include more women. They all have demonstrated not only the courage to inspire change but also the tenacity to make it happen," said Jennifer Reynolds, Former WCM President & CEO.
