WCM Announces Changes to Board of Directors

TORONTO, May 20, 2021 – Women in Capital Markets (WCM) held its Annual General Meeting yesterday and, as part of the formal proceedings, announces the reappointment of five members of its Board of Directors.

WCM thanks Melissa Sonberg for the two terms she devoted to the WCM Board championing WCM's mission. Nathalie Clark, Chair of WCM's board said of Melissa Sonberg, "I want to thank Melissa for her important contribution to WCM and in particular, her involvement in the recent recruitment and onboarding of our new CEO, Lara Zink. Melissa’s expertise and pragmatic approach has been a tremendous asset for the Board and WCM over the last 6 years".

In addition, the Board is pleased to reappoint Joyce Bernasek, Brad Black, Deland Kamanga, and Joanne O'Hea for an additional three-year term each and Sheryl Holmes for an additional one-year term.

WCM's CEO and President, Lara Zink remarked, "Melissa Sonberg played a key role in my recruitment and I am grateful for her contributions to WCM's mission. We continue to have the oversight and leadership necessary to continue amplifying diverse talent, building the industry’s equity literacy, and driving change in our industry."
